Our contributors
What We are Reading is prepared by regular contributors to the Hinrich Foundation with vast experience in covering trade and investment policy. Our current ‘reader’ is Holly Smith, a lawyer who has held multiple roles at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) - as Director for Intellectual Property and Innovation and Director for China Affairs. As senior policy advisor to the Deputy USTR, Smith also took part in developing trade and investment policy towards Asia and overseeing Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations.
