Alumni background
May Myat has nearly a decade of experience as a communications and media specialist, primarily within international development organizations. Her primary areas of expertise include communications, media engagement and procurement, digital communications, marketing and public relations.
Currently based in Yangon, May serves as a National Communications Consultant at UNFPA Myanmar. In this role, she is responsible for the development of social media content and strategies. Additionally, she supports the launch of surveys and reports from UNFPA (HQ), and UNFPA Asia Pacific, helps launch digital campaigns tailored to local Myanmar audiences.
Previously, she worked as a Communications Manager for the British Council’s TREE Program and as an Export Consultant for the Hinrich Foundation, where she gain knowledge about exporting and the global value chains.
May earned her Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2014 as a Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholar and an MBA from Queen Many University of London in 2021.
