Michael Akman

As the Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Akman is responsible for many of the day-to-day operations of the Foundation.

Mr. Akman also participates in the leadership of the Foundation’s philanthropy programs, sitting on steering committees for the Foundation’s education and research programs.

Educated and trained as a lawyer, Mr. Akman was admitted to the bar in the New York and practiced in the US and Hong Kong. He has an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center where he graduated cum laude, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production from New York University.

Mr. Akman is active in the philanthropy community in Asia, with a special interest in mental health and the arts in Singapore.
