Personal statement

Global trade is continually evolving, driven by shifting economic landscapes, developments in international regulations and changing market demands. These forces are reshaping global supply chains, compelling businesses and individuals to adapt to remain competitive in the global trade environment.

The business of commodity trading is, by nature, fast-moving, requiring forward thinking, quick adaptation to market movements and innovative approaches to navigate industry complexities. As a professional in the commodity trading sector, it is essential to constantly develop and refine one’s skills and knowledge to stay ahead of the market and competition. This drive led me to pursue a Professional Master of Business Administration (specializing in International Trading) at NTU’s Nanyang Business School. This program offers a multi-faceted, broad-based curriculum, carefully tailored to sharpen and refine the skills needed to develop as a well-rounded professional. Coupled with the expertise of renowned faculty members, I believe it will equip me with the skill sets and knowledge that complement my line of work.

I am honored to have been awarded the Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship for my studies. While the financial support from the scholarship is immensely valuable, the access it provides to the Hinrich Foundation's extensive network is equally significant. This connection offers an invaluable opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals who are equally passionate about advancing sustainable global trade and committed to driving meaningful change.
